Bonheur-du-jour desk with satinbirch and thuya veneer with extensive ormolu mounts. The top part is arranged with three cupboard doors set with blue and grey painted trompe-l'oeil panels depicting classical figures and medallion friezes, reminiscent to Wedgwood style. The central door is flanked by applied ormolu wreaths, lyre motifs, and foliate mounts. A frieze drawer runs beneath the upper section, decorated with a row of oval portrait medallions in blue and white. The desk stands on tapering supports with applied lion-paw feet and side mounts, framing a mirrored back panel. The right side opens to reveal a concealed compartment behind the mirror. The piece is raised on a moulded plinth base, with some mounts replaced at a later period.
