About

A Mid-20th-Century Italian two-tier bar cart attributed to Cesare Lacca. The design features an X-form frame that combines steel and black lacquered wood, with two rectangular glass shelves (semi-transparent brown on the top, and glossy black on the bottom), curved handles, and four castors (wheels). The lower tier is fitted with circular bottle holders. Preserved in great vintage condition, the glass has been replaced.

Cesare Lacca was an Italian architect and designer, born in Naples in 1929, whose documented activity is principally associated with the post-war period and the 1950s. His work includes furniture, serving trolleys, tables, and metal objects, often combining wood, brass, and glass. Before the age of twenty-one, his designs were selected for the travelling exhibition Italy at Work: Her Renaissance in Design Today, shown at American museums between 1950 and 1953.
