Set of four detached folios from a Safavid manuscript, Persia, 16th century, with later (Qajar Era) added illustrations. One folio bears a colophon dated 995 AH / 1586 AD. The folios are created in ink and opaque pigments on paper, with Persian text arranged within ruled borders and later miniature-style painted scenes.
The folios depict courtly and architectural scenes, placed on the recto, and the verso showcases text pages with illuminated headings in blue and gilt decoration. Newly framed under museum glass. The pages condition is fare for it's age, with minor imperfections: scuffed and worn edges, losses, staining, paper browning, repairs, repaints, pigment losses, and ink corrosion.
