Pair of color printed lithographs from the book "Les anciens costumes de l'Empire Ottoman depuis l'origine de la monarchie jusqu'à la reforme du Sultan Mahmoud," published in Paris, in 1863. Book plates (number 11 and number 13) are placed under textured royal blue paper. Preserved in great antique condition, newly framed under museum (UV protected) glass.
Arif Pacha (1807-1865) was an Ottoman statesman and military leader during the 19th century. He held several important positions within the Ottoman Empire, including serving as the Governor of Egypt and as the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.
