About

A French Napoleon III era centre or library table. The shaped top is inset with a red ground and gilt border, above a serpentine frieze enriched with brass and tortoiseshell marquetry in scrolling foliate patterns. The table is finished on all sides and fitted with a frieze drawer. The ebonised frame is mounted with gilt-bronze decoration, including foliate borders, mask mounts, and sabots to the cabriole legs. The drawer retains its original key.
