A tall English trumpet form cut glass vase with a tapering body decorated in a regular diamond cut pattern and fitted with a shaped sterling silver neck and undulating rim with beaded edging. The silver mount bears the maker's mark of Barker Brothers, together with the lion passant for sterling silver, the Chester assay mark, and the date letter for 1922.
Barker Brothers was a Birmingham silversmithing firm established in the 19th century and active under Herbert Edward Barker and Frank Ernest Barker during the early 20th century. The firm registered marks at Chester and produced a wide range of domestic silver, including vases and mounted glassware.
