"Bouquet" is an oil on canvas still life by Maurice Blond depicting an arrangement of flowers in a faceted vase. Maurice Blond (1899–1974) was a French artist of Polish origin, born Moise Blumenkrantz in Lodz. He studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts before moving to Berlin and settling permanently in Paris in 1924. There, he became part of the Montparnasse circle and formed close connections with artists including Mikhail Larionov, Natalia Goncharova, and Pinchus Kremegne. During the 1930s, he served as artistic adviser to the Russian emigre journal Tchisla and remained active within the intellectual and artistic life of interwar Paris. During the Second World War, Blond volunteered for the French army before taking refuge in southern France.
