Antique-style foldable file folders conceived as archival document boxes, each fitted with a metal handle and label cartouche. The structure is covered in textured paper or card with applied gilt borders. The interiors are lined in fabric and stamped “Merci Louis,” with textile straps designed to secure stored contents.

Merci Louis, founded by Jean-Christophe Miquel in 2013, produces objects that reinterpret 17th and 18th century French decorative language through contemporary design. Each piece is created by hand using authentic materials, with finishes and patinas applied in workshop conditions near Paris, emphasizing craftsmanship and the continuity of historical forms in functional objects.
