About

A pair of grey opaline glass vases of baluster form, each adorned with hand-painted enamel of maritime scenes on front sides and scroll cameos at the backs. One shows a single masted vessel moving through open water, while the other presents a group of ships near a coastal formation. The compositions are set against the smooth, opaque grey ground, with gilded bands in Aesthetical style accenting the rims, necks, and bases. Preserved in great antique condition. Minor wear is visible on the gilt parts.
